Rio Rico High School JROTC Celebrates Awards Night

Over 180 national and institutional awards were handed out to 78 cadets as family, friends and RRHS JROTC graduates cheered on at the JROTC Annual Awards Night at Rio Rico High School. Joel Leyva, Rio Rico High School senior, received word from The College Board that he is a 2013-2014 National Hispanic Recognition Program (NHRP) Scholar, recognizing him as an “academically exceptional Hispanic/Latino student.” According to The College Board, this year the NHRP selected 5,300 Hispanic/Latino students from a pool of over 259,000 candidates for this distinction.
