Mariposa Community Health Center recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Mr. Jim Welden, Chief Executive Officer, congratulated and thanked all staff members for their commitment and dedication to the patients of the Health Center, the community and the Mariposa family. Mr. Welden commented that “Mariposa has grown from an organization with a total budget of about $400,000 taking care of 1,500 patients in 1980, to this year, when with a budget of $16 million, we will provide primary health care and essential education services to 17,000 patients.” Welden continued that what really matters is the compassion and care that we provide day in and day out to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients and the health of the communities we serve.” He also gave special recognition to the Board of Directors, the medical and dental providers and the 12 staff members who have been with the Health Center more than 20 years.
A special award was presented to Mr. Robert Liñeiro, who as a member of the Mariposa Community Health Center’s Board of Directors has demonstrated extraordinary commitment and dedication to the Health Center and the community for twenty five years. As the Board member with the longest tenure, Mr. Liñeiro became a board member in November 1985 and has served in a number of important capacities including President and Treasurer.
