The Coordinated Community Response Taskforce (CCRT) for Domestic Violence (Prevention, Awareness and Service Response) held a meeting this past March 2013. The purpose of the group is to create awareness and gather resources for domestic violence and for those affected.
The group brainstormed possible ideas and solutions to eradicate Domestic Violence in Santa Cruz County. The group also began preparations for an event planned for later in 2013 that will be directed towards families with a focus on overall wellness in the community.
The group also advocates to the community that if you are a victim of domestic violence or are affected by it to please speak out. “There are various resources and help available to those affected and we as a community can help victims overcome such difficulties,” said SCC Sheriff’s Office Detective Oscar Pena.
