Rio Rico High School JROTC Celebrates Awards Night

Over 180 national and institutional awards were handed out to 78 cadets as family, friends and RRHS JROTC graduates cheered on at the JROTC Annual Awards Night at Rio Rico High School. RRHS Students Perform with TJI at 2014 Essentially Ellington HS Jazz Band Competition

Three RRHS students will perform with the 25-member Tucson Jazz Institute (TJI) at the Essentially Ellington Competition at Lincoln Center in New York City, May 7-11, 2014. Dior Velez, San Cayetano 3rd Grader, Wins SCVUSD Future Chef Competition

The Pesto Parmesan Italian Sandwich, created by Dior Velez, 3rd grader at San Cayetano Elementary, took first place at the recent “Future Chef” competition at SCVUSD. The sandwich was made with toasted bread spread with pesto, topped with provolone cheese, turkey, ham, parmesan cheese, and spinach, then capped with another piece of toasted bread. EMS Providers to Recognize SCVUSD Students

Southern Arizona EMS providers will recognize four students who, by using CPR, helped save the life of their wrestling coach when he suffered multiple heart attacks after practice on October 14, 2013. RRHS Senior, Ben Noriega, Signs Scholarship Agreement with Central AZ College

Rio Rico High School’s track-and-field champion, Ben Noriega, has signed a Cross Country, track-and-field scholarship with Central Arizona College in Coolidge, AZ. Noriega’s scholarship will pay for tuition, books and athletic gear and equipment. Coatimundi Middle School students won first, second, third and fourth place awards in the 5th Annual Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge Art Contest in the 6-8 grade category.
