4th Annual World Autism Awareness Day Celebration

The Southern Arizona Autism Association a nonprofit organization serving families in Nogales, Arizona celebrated their 4th Annual World Autism  Awareness Day Celebration in Santa Cruz County. The event brings resources and programs to families in Ambos Nogales. The celebration took place on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. at the Teyechea Park behind city hall. The event is held to help bring awareness on autism. According to the CDC, 1 in 68 children is diagnosed with autism, in some cases that number is 1 in 42. “As a result, it is important for community members to know they are not alone. We have the resources here for them, they are not alone. We are working locally to help meet the needs of community members,” said Michelle Jacquez president.
