On February 23rd, 2017, the Strengthening Families Program held its second cohort graduation. The Strengthening Families Program, also known as SFP, is funded through a grant given through the Governor’s Office of Youth, Faith, and Family. This 14-week program takes ten families through sessions intended to strengthen the family unit through learning communication skills, coping skills and overall healthy family skills. The graduation was attended by all of the families in the cohort, the Circles of Peace board members and the Rio Rico High School Parent Liaison, Yolanda Felix.
The event was organized by the SFP coordinators, Sonia Sanchez and Tere Romero, program facilitators Mari Maldonado and Sonia Ramirez and Circles of Peace director, Blanca Acosta. For more information on how to enroll in an upcoming Cohort or about the program, call 520-281-0579.
