“Su Voz Vale” your voice matters is a non-profit organization here in Santa Cruz County dedicated to working with individuals who are victims of sexual and domestic abuse. Su Voz Vale is currently under the umbrella of CODAC Behavioral Health Services.
Su Voz Vale is a crisis intervention, and advocacy program. It provides support, and information to victims of sexual and domestic abuse. Su Voz Vale local advocate is Lourdes Suarez. She provides on-going support and advocacy for participants. Appointments are necessary for participants seeking services. Su Voz also has a peer support group named, “El Cafecito.” They meet every Friday, from 10:00 am.-12:00 p.m. at the Nogales Family Resource Center.
Su Voz Vale is also a part of the Immigrant Women’s Taskforce, which is part of the Southern Arizona Battered Immigrant Women’s Project. The main goal of the taskforce is basically to connect immigrant families victims of domestic and sexual violence with resources so they have access to care and services ensuring their rights under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
“We try to help families by providing them with the support, and resources they need during their transition. Many of the items these families need are personal hygiene items such as deodorant, soap, shampoo etc. We are extremely grateful to several of local partners as they often pitch in to help get families the supplies they need,” said Lourdes Suarez.
If interested in donating personal hygiene products for victims of sexual abuse, and domestic violence. Please take them directly to the local office. Your support makes a huge difference for these families.
